Demonstate and understanding of the following features of spreadsheet software:

  • Pivot table
  • formulae
  • look-up tables
  • absolute and relative cell referencing
  • if function
Take a copy of the ATLAS SALES spreadsheet which has a list of Cusomer who have bought Atlases from a company. It shows which product they bought and how many.




Task 1

Give a definition of a pivot table.
Make the pivot tables on the worksheet and describe what they show.

Task 2

Give a definition of an if statement.
Use the if statement and describe it.


Task 3

Give a definition of a look up table.
Use the look up table and describe it.

Task 4
Give a definition of a function and a formulae.
Use the sum function to add up the total.
Describe what the formula would have been if the sum function hadn't been used.

Task 5
Use absolute and relative cell references in the currency converter.
Describe absolute and relative cell references.
